That being said, it is also the single most frustrating and confusing show around. Most Wednesday evenings end with us sitting on the couch, looking at each other completely bewildered. Last night was no different. For those of you who don't watch, there are two story lines occurring on the island in 1977 and also in the present day - involving the same people who were originally on the island in real time the first 3 seasons. So weird and confusing!
And my book is about a man who is chronologically-challenged and is constantly disappearing from the "present" and showing up in the past. He even meets his wife when she is 6 and spends the next 16 years visiting her periodically before he actually "meets" her in real time. The book is an account of all these hops through time from different points of view.
So, I kinda feel the need to ask, is it really 2009? Have I lost a year or so somewhere? Or maybe am I losing my mind instead? Just checking.

I know what you mean. I love LOST but it is so confusing. Last week I thought we were finally making headway to finding out what was going on, and then last night I was just more confused than ever! I don't know how they are going to end the season...next week is the finale! I also read the Time Travelers Wife a few weeks ago, and I actually had a half-awake dream the other night when Jackson started crying that he was a time traveler and his future self came back in time to take care of him! LOL
ReplyDeleteSeriously. Time travel is one of my favorite things. I have Back to the Future to thank for that! But I'm with you on Lost. I have to call my die hard friend who watches every episode multiple times to get any sense of what is going on. And he still doesn't know! Why is Jack so bent on getting it the way it was? Does he not care that he would never have met Kate? They can't end it with them never having crashed in the first place!
ReplyDeleteI am seriously worried that the whole series will end with Flight 815 landing in LA and all of them getting off as strangers. You don't think JJ Abrams would do that to us, do you?
